Saturday, November 12, 2011, Shazam embarked on a great journey to "Carrolton Clash" in Woodside, VA. After hours of beautiful autumn leaves, pavements, and bridges, Shazam finally reached her destination. Stretching out her muscles and inhaling the fresh crisp air, Shazam gazed upon the vast fields that lie before her. The rough but leveled terrain was covered with soccer playing child prodigies. It brought great amusement to see the little ones and all their potentials. Realizing her distraction, she shifted gears... It. Was. Game. Time.
Day1 November 12, 2011
Opponents: Georgetown, Richmond, Catholic
[Scores and Highlights will be updated later]
*Only Three Games for Day 1? The Perfect amount of games for Ultimate* she thought.
Knowing this, Shazam played hard. She worked on Zone, Defense, Ho, Vert, End Zone-- she worked on everything. No matter how tired she got, how injured she felt, she kept on playing. She never let herself down. Every single fiber of her being came together and worked together. Sure she had a few hiccups, but that never brought her down. Shazam was there to play and represent herself and that is what she did.
Day2 November 13, 2011
Opponents: George Washington, Richmond, Salisbury.
[Scores and Highlights will be updated later]
Realizing this was the last day of the last tourney of this beautiful season, Shazam's fire burned. Her heart spewed with words of encouragement, of excitement, of Ultimate. With words coming from her heart, her whole body felt like it was beating as one. Getting delicious D's, Skying some dingleberries, running hard, backing herself up when she took a misstep... Shazam laid all she had into Woodside's Fields. No Regrets. Just Sweat and Perseverance.
The Great Ultimate God looks upon Shazam with a smile.
Rewarding her valor, it bestows upon her the best reward of all: The Spirit Award.
With this award, we know we shared our love of ultimate.
With our battle wounds, we showed that Shazam is a force to be reckoned with.
Ladies... Wonderful Ladies of Shazam, I am proud of you. You played hard. You represented.
For now I shall bid you adieu with a Congratulations! I hope you feel as happy and as fulfilled as I do. You totally deserve it. Tis an honour to fight along your side.
- Science.
P.S.
CONGRATULATIONS SHAZAM! on receiving the Spirit Award for "Carrolton Clash"!
It's always great to know you played honorably.
